All ground floor. Open plan studio accommodation with pull-down king-size double bed, kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Shower room with shower, basin and WC.

This charming studio property is quietly tucked away behind a high stone wall, in the pretty market town of Malton. Accessed via the Old Lodge Hotel grounds, it is the perfect romantic hideaway for couples to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside of the North York Moors National Park, with easy access to the east coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. Small and compact, this creatively designed studio has a pull down king-size bed, which fits neatly into a feature wall. There is a cosy kitchen area, with bespoke hand-built painted cupboards and fold-away dining table, whilst two comfortable leather chairs provide relaxed viewing of the Smart TV. With character beams and an exposed stone wall, this lovely little property has patio doors opening onto a very private and secluded courtyard garden, with its own bubbling hot tub; a sheltered and sunny spot in which to unwind with a glass of wine. Guests are granted full use of the hotel’s expansive grounds with lawns, shrubs and trees. A five minute walk brings you into the hub of this vibrant market town, with some excellent restaurants, inns and quaint tea rooms. Wander around the galleries and antique shops and experience the weekly market held in the central square. The surrounding area has many attractions, including stately homes such as Castle Howard, Scampston Hall and Duncombe Park. Visit the nearby Lavender Fields or take a trip back in time on the North York Moors Steam Railway from Pickering. Catch the train in Malton and spend a wonderful day in York with its famous Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre and medieval city walls. Try a river cruise on the Ouse, followed by a gourmet meal in one of the many splendid restaurants. An ideal retreat for couples looking for something distinctly different!

The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

We wanted to have a break away and spotted this little hideaway online. From the minute you go through the code protected gate you feel like you are in your own little world and the feeling of relaxation just hits you. It is small and compact but cleverly organised, so much so my husband felt the advert on the website didn't do it justice. Everything has been thought of, plastic glasses for outside, outdoor towels for the hot tub washing up liquid, tea and coffee sachets, a small pot of milk and even an electric ice maker. There is also a surprising amount of storage space given its size, and the heaters are really good so despite the weather we were never cold. As we were there when storm Ciara hit, we stayed quite local but there are some great bars and places to eat within walking distance. I'd especially recommend The Taphouse for a drink or two and the Chapter One Bistro for an excellent meal. We will definitely be back, as we now would like to spend some time exploring a bit further afield, plus at the end of the day the hot tub is an amazing way to unwind.

My partner and I stayed here for 8 days in December. Booked via Sykes, the owners provided good key collection information and were very helpful. It's set in the grounds of a lovely hotel, with allocated parking, the owners gate adjoins the property. It feels very secluded even though you are so close to everything. The property is great, we would love to go back and visit in the summer. Everything has been thought about. The chairs and footstools are so comfy, the wardrobe and furniture and kitchen utensils, everything you could possibly need. The toilet and shower very clean and compact. The garden is beautiful and the hot tub is great. Malton is lovely too, lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, even a cinema and train station. Highly recommend the Mexican el gringos and the old malton pub. York is just 1 train stop away with lots of great attractions too. Not really any complaints, more suggestions of improvement and personal opinion, dont let it put you off as we had a great time. But the bed was way too soft for us, really uncomfortable. 4 drawers in the furniture didn't work which was awkward since it is so small, the panel heater on the wall has a crack in it, could do with replacing and the gas heater needs to be on all the time to keep it warm as it was very cold inside. We had a great week and would definitely visit again, highly recommend it to all.

This lovely cottage is small but beautifully formed! One wall is part of a older building from the 16th or 17th century and it sits in the grounds of the Old Lodge hotel, which we visited for food and drinks. It has a lovely well kept garden and in the middle there is a great hot tub. There are high walls on all sides so it is very private. The owners live next door behind a high fence, but don't bother you unless you ask for something! There is parking in the Hotel car park and its a 5 minute walk to the Market square and centre on Malton. If you are a real ale fan I can recommend the Blue ball near the Market square for good beer and great food (even a suet jam roly poly) The bed is a pull down bed which we didn't have a problem with and there is a good shower and cooking facilities although we didn't cook as there are so many nice places to eat in Malton. So although small this a great place for a short or even a longer stay and we hope to return soon!

Just driving home from a wonderful 3 night stay at Beech View. It's a lovely little cottage that is very cosy, set in the grounds of a rather grand hotel yet with total privacy. There are enough resources that you wouldn't have to leave should you not want to. We visited a place called El Gringos which was close by, we didn't think the food there was all that great but the takeway pizza from Mamma Mia's was very good. Would definitely visit Beech View again. :)

Just returned from a long weekend at Beech View Cottage and would recommend to everyone. The cottage is a five minute walk from malton centre where there are several pubs and restaurants or a ten minute walk from the train station if you want to visit York. The cottage is cosy, spotless and comfortably sleeps two and the hot tub is fantastic. Will definitely look to return to Beech View!
