A cosy single-storey, semi-detached cottage, attached to the owner's home, located in the lovely hamlet of Water Yeat, a 10-minute walk from the shores of Coniston Water in the beautiful Lake District National Park. Perfect as a romantic getaway, Corn Cottage offers guests comfortable accommodation in a wonderful location. Inside this lovely cottage is a sitting room with dining area, wooden floor, exposed beams and a warming woodburning stove, along with a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a double bedroom. Outside you can take in the surrounding countryside from the south-facing patio with its romantic garden 'love-seat' or dine alfresco as you discuss the days events, and on a clear night, the deep darkness gives way to a star-laden sky. With footpaths and bridleways to explore right from the doorstep, access to the fells is easy and Beacon Tarn and Coniston Water are within walking distance. In the nearby village of Coniston you will find plenty of places to eat and shop, as well as things to see and do. The National Trust Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water is a true taste of a by-gone era from where you can relax and enjoy the stunning surrounding scenery, plus historic Brantwood House, home of the Victorian artist and social thinker John Ruskin, is close by and here the beautiful gardens and ancient woodland are a real treasure. From Coniston the great outdoors awaits where you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, mountain climbing and gorge scrambling. If you prefer biking, Grizedale Forest has some excellent mountain bike routes. Situated in a peaceful location, this superb cottage is an ideal romantic retreat.

We were very happy staying at Corn Cottage. It has been beautifully renovated and the quality of furniture, décor and crockery was of a good standard. The location is ideal, with beautiful walks from the cottage and great access to Coniston and the surrounding area. We would be very happy to stay again and recommend to friends.
A good location and perfect accommodation for 2 people. The home owners were extremely nice and helpful.
Corn Cottage was just lovely. It ticked every box we wanted for our little 'escape the city' break. There were loads of local walks, great pubs nearby and stunning views. We even had a day of bad weather but staying in the cottage all day and relaxing was lovely.
