Moor Lane House is a lovely mid-19th century cottage situated in the village of Elton, just one mile from Winster in the Peak District National Park. The cottage sleeps four in one king-size double bedroom and one twin, together with family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen, dining room and sitting room with woodburner. Outside is off road parking and a garden with furniture. There are 5 steps up to the raised lawned area - people with limited mobility should take care and children need to be supervised. The staircase inside the property initially has three corner stairs with a post for gripping, followed by a banister. Moor Lane House is a delightful cottage from which to tour this lovely part of the country with plenty to see and do within reach.

The small peaceful village of Elton is situated in a superb elevated position on the White Peak Plateau, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. More than 900ft above sea level and with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, the village is a popular centre for walkers, lying within a few miles of the Tissington and High Peak walking/cycling trails and The Limestone Way.
The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
We can highly recommend this Cottage, which is comfortable, cosy, spotless, and well equipped (within Covid guidelines). The owner was extremely helpful in providing all the relevant information needed via email (in the absence of instruction leaflets, maps, etc, that would normally be left in the Cottage). The location is good for Bakewell, Matlock, Crich Tramway Museum, Chatsworth House., and there are walks from the door. The nearest shop is in the next Village (Winster), which is 2 miles away, and for a small Village shop is very well stocked (including Newspapers).
Very comfortable cottage with lots of room and fully fitted with all the facilities needed for a peaceful and restful stay with our dog. Easy to get to places of interest nearby.
I would rate this cottage 10/10 as it has everything you need for a break in the Dales,it is very roomy and the owner has thought of everything that you could possibly need, the picture doesn't do the garden justice as there is a large private grassed area which is perfect to relax in. It is like being home from home
Moor Lane House has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is homely and roomy inside with a lovely cottage garden. Lovely walks from the door no need to touch the car. Also lovely rural attractions a short distance away. Totally recommend this lovely cottage we have already booked our stay for 2019, can't wait.
Just returned from spending Easter at this wonderful cottage. Very comfortable cottage with everything you need to make the most of your stay. Great location for exploring Matlock & Bakewell.
The cottage is perfectly placed for walking in the peak district or just somewhere to relax and chill out. It is a warm cosy house in which a lot of thought has been given to ensure everything you need to cook and dine has been provided. The bedrooms and beds are excellent downstairs is a joy to reside in warm and cosy but with lots of room. Elton itself is very quiet and peaceful however the real ale pub 300 yards away is quaint and very friendly. The next village Winster, is only approx 2 x miles away and has a well stocked shop and three pubs serving food. The bowling inn pub is excellent we dined there a couple of times and the food was really good with varied choices. We had a lovely 1st time long weekend at the cottage and will come again. P.S. Parking is available alongside the building but if you have a large car of are a bit nervous reversing back lane has parking spaces 50 yards around the corner.
Elton is a sleepy traditional Derbyshire village and Moor Lane House is perfect for a short break or holiday. This is only our second day but I feel compelled to write this review! If you are looking for a cosy, clean comfortable cottage that also welcomes your dog, this is it! Attention to detail is superb, the beds comfortable and the garden secure. The ad states parking for smallish car but we have Rav 4 and parked on drive no bother. It all feels quiet and private (just the odd cow looking over the fence) but is close to all the sights. Must go! Off to Bakewell for the day!
Had a lovely week here. All you needed was provided, although I would recommend taking your own bath sheets. WiFi worked. Big selection of books, DVDs, games to keep all family entertained. Garden would be lovely with right weather. Countryside walks from the door. Comfy beds and a super shower. We didn't want to leave! Thank you
