A superb detached cottage ideally located in the centre of the pretty village of Pebworth, just a short distance from the historic towns of Chipping Campden and Stratford-upon-Avon. It has links to actor Sir Ben Kingsley. He originally rented an apartment in the village whilst working at the RSC, and this apartment was in Pebworth House that stands opposite the church. Upon achieving fame with his film role Ghandi, the actor bought the whole property from his landlady and the grounds on the proviso that he would build a cottage in the orchard for her and her family. The result is Pebworth Cottage which has mellowed over the years to be part of the village and is now, after extensive renovation, ready for guests to enjoy. It is beautifully furnished with everything needed for a luxurious break in a stunning part of the country. Enter the cottage into a light and welcoming hall, ideal for storing walking gear or wellies and make your way to the stunning, well-equipped kitchen with granite worktops and a stable door to the rear garden. Next door the gorgeous dining room makes the perfect place for catching up with friends over dinner. From the dining room is a bright and light sitting room, with warming woodburning stove, sumptuous sofas and large windows and glass doors. From the hall make your way to the first floor where you will find three beautiful bedrooms all boasting high-quality beds and bed linen, plus the two front bedrooms have the added benefit of amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Back on the ground floor is a superb king-size bedroom complete with stunning en-suite (accessed via stairs to the first floor) with a slipper bath ideal for a long soak after a day exploring the area, and a luxurious double shower. A beautiful bathroom is situated on the first floor as well as a wet room on the ground floor off the hall. Step outside and enjoy alfresco dining or family games in the enclosed cottage garden or take a short drive and enjoy a meal at one of the many excellent pubs in the area including a 13th century thatched tavern at Honeybourne or The Fleece at Breatforton, owned by the National Trust. Further afield, there are many unspoilt towns and villages in the area, with Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh all within easy reach.

Pebworth dates back to Saxon times and boasts many timber framed buildings and thatched cottage. Located on the edge of the Cotswolds the village plays host to many local events throughout the year including the Open Garden scheme and rural cinema. Reviews

The minute we walked into Pebworth cottage we realised we had made a good choice for our weekend away. The cottage was clean, spacious and well equipped. We had a minor problem which was sorted in minutes when we contacted the lovely owner Mark. We had a lovely log fire burning on Saturday evening which was already made up waiting just to be lit. There was a lovely food hamper waiting for us on our arrival, 2 beautiful crusty loaves, biscuits, gingerbread cows, apple juice and milk and beautiful real butter in the fridge. The weather could have been kinder to us but hey ho, it didn’t stop our enjoyment. The bedding, towels and all the kitchen equipment were of a very good quality. We had a fabulous time at a fabulous cottage. Would I reccomend to others..... Yes, definitely. Thankyou to Mark and Charlotte.

We’ve just spent a wonderful weekend at Pebworth Cottage - two couples, two toddlers and a baby. Really impressed with this lovely, cosy, luxurious cottage. The owners contacted us to check requirements prior to arrival and very helpfully fitted stair gates as well as leaving us a cot and highchair - very much appreciated. The rooms were all lovely and the layout was great. A beautiful garden too, and the toddlers loved the playhouse! There was a welcome basket with delicious goodies in, and the cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed. We’ve stayed in a few places that are mid way between us and our friends - Pebworth Cottage is the first one we’d like to book again one day! Highly recommend it.

I have just returned from what I can only describe as the most perfect weekend away with the girls. We are a group of 6 over 50s (even though we have a much younger mental age) and my daughter who is 28. It was just exactly what we wanted for a special weekend away. A spacious and plush cottage with every amenity you could ask for. The location is completely picturesque and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed for the weekend - including champagne glasses which was our major requirement of the weekend. We cooked our own meals using the facilities of the well stocked kitchen. The beds were completely comfortable and we were supplied with luxury towels. The welcome hamper was greatly appreciated as well. The only advise I would give is to pre-book any taxis if you need them!
