Fivelanes 1 mile. This charming, detached barn conversion is set on the outskirts of Trewint, a sleepy hamlet on the borders of Bodmin Moor, one mile from Fivelanes and just eight miles from Launceston. Tucked away down a farm lane, on one and a quarter acres of land with beautiful views and easy access to the A30, Jolls Ground Barn is the perfect retreat for families, friends and couples exploring Cornwall. A large, gravelled drive at the front of the cottage provides plenty of parking space and sensational views of rolling countryside. In the cosy, functional kitchen, a Belfast sink enjoys a glimpse of the views fronting the property, and the large, modern double oven is great for keen cooks - you can bake and cook delicious meals with fresh, tasty Cornish produce. From the kitchen, the cottage opens into a social sitting room with two comfy sofas and a beautiful granite chimney breast housing a woodburning stove. The conservatory, accessed through the sitting room, acts as a bright dining room where you can soak up the afternoon sun and marvel at the countryside beyond. Plan the day, write your postcards and curl up in the armchair with a book and enjoy some quiet time to yourself! On the far side of the property are three beautifully furnished bedrooms, all enjoying delightful views. They provide the perfect place to rest your head after a long day exploring the moors, that can conveniently be accessed just 800 yards up the road. Furnished with cute cushions and bright, beautiful bed throws, the rooms have been carefully decorated to create a welcoming home-from-home. Meanwhile, the garage has been converted into a games room where the kids can play table tennis, darts or pool. To the back of the property is a large enclosed lawned garden and a paved patio with garden furniture where you can dine alfresco when the weather is warm. There is also a field where kids and dogs can let off steam. In Fivelanes is a wonderful country pub serving lovely food, which can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. You can enjoy great walks over Bodmin Moor, a short walk from the doorstep, making it an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts and dog owners. Within 300 yards of the Barn is the open moorland area known as Trewint Downs. A similar distance beyond is direct access to the major part of Bodmin Moor via Westmoor Gate, quite simply one of the best wild open spaces in the southwest of England with breath-taking scenery. Bodmin Moor has just been designated as an International Dark Sky Landscape, so you can enjoy the night sky and its stars from the Barn. The North Coast is approximately half an hour away, where you can explore the popular picturesque coastal villages of Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow. On the opposite coast are the historic fishing ports of Polperro and Looe, with an abundance of shops, pubs and cafes. In a fantastic location for exploring the border between Cornwall and Devon, Jolls Ground Barn is sure to make your holiday extra memorable.

Reviews

A beautifully clean, comfortably furnished, stylish barn conversion in the most amazingly, peaceful village Five Lanes. Large gravelled driveway behind a gate. The barn accommodated us as a family of 5 adults and 3 dogs perfectly. Lots of opening windows with blinds/curtains. Big bathroom with ample hot water and large bath/mirror, plenty of towels and a hair dryer. 3 Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds/linen and pillows. Good sized wardrobes, drawers. Kitchen provided us with everything we needed and more... fridge, dishwasher, washing machine just like a home from home. Good sized comfortable, leather sofas in lounge with TV and books. Family dining table in lovely conservatory again with opening windows and French doors. This was our morning space where we were entertained with beautiful bird song and squirrels. Great secure garden space to the rear, large patio area and furniture. Stone fire pit in stone circle in field behind garden, perfect for cooking/toasting marshmallows in the evening safely away from cottage. Large games room was great for the men... Darts, pool, table tennis. Also accommodated a small chest freezer and tumble dryer. Neighbours very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Beautiful dog walks, plenty of choice with takeaway food. Maureen the house keeper was fantastic, we had freshly baked scones, jam and cream on arrival with tea bags, fresh milk in the fridge. Little personal touches that really do make all the difference. She also provided us with lots of valuable local information. Daymer Bay and Golitha Falls were beautiful. Our week at Jolls Ground Barn was very comfortable and relaxing and we can't wait to go back. We all feel very priveledged to have found this beautiful Cornish gem. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The location of the cottage is excellent, a couple of minutes off the A30, and it's an excellent base to visit many of the main attractions of the area; Padstow, Tintagel, Bude, Lyford Gorge, and Plymouth are all within 45 minutes-ish drive. The cottage itself is well equipped and has been well thought out and furnished to a high standard. This has to be the best equipped kitchen I've ever come across self catering, which made cooking in it a pleasure. The scones and clotted cream on arrival were a pleasant surprise too! We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay and hope to return soon.

Brilliant holiday cottage, very clean, tidy and very well equipped, we had a warm welcome when we arrived from the house keeper who had thoughtfully provided milk and scones with jam and clotted cream. Extremely child friendly (we have a 2 1/2 year old and a baby) with toys, books and a big garden to run around in. Also great location with plenty of things to do nearby
