We stayed here as a family of 3 for 1 week and must say it is a great gem and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Covid has caused some changes and limitations in the holiday cottage industry but given the current circumstances it’s totally understandable, this is still a 5 star cottage, but you may need to buy a few additional items that are typically provided if you visit during these uncertain times. The cottage was immaculately cleaned, the kitchen has plenty of plates and cutlery etc which meant we didn’t have to switch the dishwasher on every day unlike some other cottages we have visited, we also made good use of the hot tub and the water was checked regularly during our stay to keep it clean and safe to use. The cottage is old and quirky but surprisingly big as it has been extended! There are plenty of places to walk from the cottage in all directions and we found the local tourist information very helpful, we walked 6-9 miles almost everyday! Emma was also very helpful suggesting local places to eat ahead of our visit so we could book in advance again due to covid. This is a great cottage in a very good location!

We stayed here this week for a birthday treat, the location is perfect for river walks and shopping in the lovely market town of Richmond. The owners were very friendly and helpful with what to do, see and where to eat in the local area. The hot tub was a brilliant touch and easy to use and keep warm! We arranged for a local beautician to come and do some treatments at the house which I would highly recommend! We would definitely stay here again and we are hoping to make it an annual trip!

We rented the Old Sunday School for a week in October 2018 and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in returning for another stay! It's an absolutely beautiful property in a lovely part of the world. Our hosts, Emma & Paul, were exceptional and we were warmly welcomed on our arrival. Both Emma and Paul were always on hand to provide advice, if needed, on places to visit and also on the local dining scene and they gave us some fabulous tips. If you have young ones a visit to The Forbidden Corner is a must and we also managed to arrange a horse riding trip as Emma's niece works at a nearby stable. The cottage is spacious and there was plenty of space for our party of five - three adults & two children -, is beautifully decorated and was warm and cosy. The cottage also has everything you could need for a really comfortable stay and it also goes without saying that the hot tub was an added bonus!! I have no doubt we will return in the not too distant future and I will definitely try the local delicacy recommended by Paul - a Lash Goshte - from Jacoubs on my next visit! Thanks again to Emma and Paul for being such wonderful hosts!

We had a lovely, long weekend here and it was fantastic. I really can't fault the property at all, the location was lovely and the owners were so helpful. We have stayed in some amazing 5 star hotels all over the world and this property really rates up there in terms of comfort and quality. We will definitely return.

"Wow a little gem of a place" don't really want to tell you how good just in case we can never book again due to high demand The owners Emma and Paul and lovely little Harry could not of done enough for us, they went over the top with making us feel welcome, recommending places to eat and visit, Emma even called me on Friday evening after researching the most effective way of travelling for us a group of 6 to York on Saturday. The cottage has everything you need "home from home", couple of suggestions we made, Emma messaged the next day to say they had purchased them. Fantastic beds and bedding, towels supplied even for the hot tub The cottage is in a perfect location to walk to all the amenities, steep hills but definitely worth it once you arrive in the market place and the fantastic pub for Sunday roast "Holly Hill" again locals helpful explaining how to get to the old railway station with the micro brewery, ice cream parlour and local artists work There is not anything negative to say about this fantastic cottage ....... only that we will return and highly recommend Once again thank you Emma, Paul and Harry x

Just enjoyed a lovely week in this beautiful cottage, Richmond is a stunning place to stay with lovely river walks and plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas. This little gem of a cottage is a great base & very comfortable. Emma & Paul, the owners are very welcoming and add little extra touches like a welcome hamper on arrival. We have stayed in the dales many times but have fallen in love with Richmond. Highly recommend staying here.

Great location in Richmond, such a pretty town with plenty of amenities. The house is decorated beautifully, in keeping with it's listed status. Very comfortable, and everything provided. The house is really clean and welcoming. Plenty of towels provided, which is great because there is a lovely hot tub. This was lovely to relax in after a day of beautiful walks, or cycling trips. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, but the local pubs do great food, and there are also take-aways nearby. It's an uphill walk into the town square, with plenty of shops etc. We were there the weekend of the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, and town was incredibly busy and full of life. There are many lovely walks nearby and also great cycle routes. The Dales are nearby, with stunning scenery. Emma and Paul are really welcoming and lovely hosts. I would happily go back and stay again! Really recommend this gem.

The location of the house is great, very close to the centre with plenty of shops, pubs and attractions such as the castle. the House itself was amazing!! such attention to detail, and clean and spacious. could not ask for more!! the hot tub was an added bonus and very easy to use. Perfect for relaxing with friends. we got a welcome hamper on arrival full of yummy treats, including prosecco. the open fire was great for lounging and watching films, and the house was light and airy. we had plenty of towels and take away menus! overall i would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back, maybe in the summer to experience the hot tub in the sunshine. 10/10!

Booked so all the family could be together for Xmas under one roof, this was the most perfect location. The house and home owners couldn’t have been more accommodating , Emma decorated the house lovely for Christmas. There was 7 of us and had plenty of room. Close to the pubs which was a nice day out on Boxing Day. We didn’t want to come home. Couldn’t recommend the house any more. Thank you Paul and Emma it was amazing xx

What a fantastic cottage with amazing views! Had a brilliant stay and was big enough for all 8 of us. The owners was lovely and went above and beyond for us, there was plenty of little touches that made the stay even more special. The cottage was very clean when we arrived and there was a friendly face to welcome us as we arrived. There is plenty to do within the town and some fantastic walks about. The size of the rooms excelled our expectations and the hot tub was just bliss. We will be visiting again!

This extended terraced cottage is lovely and welcoming, well furnished and with the added bonus of a private hot tub in the enclosed inner courtyard. Lovely comfortable beds (one double and two king) made up with cotton sheets. Although the kitchen is very small, there is plenty of living and dining space. Lovely welcome from the owner, who showed us around and left an unexpected welcome hamper for us. This cottage is in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. Richmond is very hilly, so expect to climb wherever you go. The cottage itself is mostly on the level though, only one step into the sleeping areas, or out into the court yard. Parking is "on street" first come first served, but we had no problem getting parked near to the property. Would recommend.

If you're looking for a charming house, in a pretty market town, with the right amount of luxury to make a special occasion or a holiday truly superb then look no further. The property has something for everyone, a cosy living room with open fire for those cold winter months. A lovely outdoor space, with the added bonus of a hot tub, for summer days or nights, a party with friends or loved ones, somewhere for the kids to play, or somewhere to enjoy a glass or two on a summers day, this place is for you. Each bedroom has lovely comfortable beds with luxurious bed linen, two bathrooms - one with a bath, loads of towels and extra for the hot tub. There's a well equipped kitchen and a fantastic sitting come dining area, with enough space for large groups to enjoy a meal or watch television in absolute comfort. The place is also filled with period features and beautiful artwork. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and went the extra mile to make sure my friends and I celebrated a special Birthday in style. They were there to meet us on arrival and explained how to work all the gadgets etc. and were able to give us great recommendations for places to visit, eat and drink, and also at the end of the phone if we needed them for any reason. They left us a lovely hamper of goodies to get us started, we really couldn't ask for more!!! Richmond is also the perfect location, a good mix of shops, pubs and restaurants to suit every pocket. A place to go on lovely walks by the river, enjoy a picnic or sample the ice cream at the Old Station. Thanks again to the owners for making our stay so special and one that we'll alway remember!!!

I stayed here recently with a group of friends. The decor is clean, modern meets tradional. There is just about everything you could need while on holiday. The bedrooms are cosy and the whole place is spotless. The light airy dining area is great for gathering around for meals or just relaxing on the sofas. The pretty enclosed courtyard at the rear is great for outdoor entertaining or simply chilling out in the hot tub. It is approx 5-10 min walk up hill to the town, but taxis are available. There are lovely flat walks along the river nearby. The owners are very helpful and most welcoming. We would definitely return.

Just had a lovely weekend at this spacious, quiet, well equipped and very comfy property. There was plenty of room for 7 of us and we took full advantage of the sun and the lovely hot tub. Luxury!! The river walk is just around the corner and it's an easy stroll up to the market place. Richmond IS hilly but there are lots of taxis for anyone with walking difficulties..... Allessandros Italian in Queen's Road was gorgeous but v busy at weekends, so best to book. There are lots of takeaways if you don't want to cook. WiFi signal is good and the hamper left by Emma was a very nice touch. We will definitely be back! Angie B
