A delightful stone-built, semi-detached cottage just two minutes from the centre of Richmond. Ideal for a romantic break, this lovely cottage provides the perfect base to explore the market town. The property provides beautiful character, with feature fireplaces and exposed beams throughout complimenting the stone exterior. On entering the cottage guests are met by a beautifully decorated open plan living area, consisting of a cosy sitting area, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Open to the stairs on the first floor guests can relax in the beautifully decorated king-size double room with decorative fireplace and admire the lovely views of the castle and Richmond town. The room is complete with a stylish en-suite shower room. Outside is an enclosed cobbled garden, providing a lovely space for drinks in the sun in the warmer weather. Just a short walk brings guests to the beautiful town centre with a huge cobbled town square and plenty of shops, pubs, cafes, tearooms and restaurants. With a weekly market too there is plenty to cater for all tastes. Why not spend a day at North Yorkshire’s finest attraction, Richmond Castle and admire the breathtaking views of North Yorkshire. Nearby guests can find popular towns such as Hawes, Reeth and Middleham, perfect places to enjoy a refreshing drink or meal after a walk in the countryside. A wonderful cottage, 4 Youngs Yard can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
Situated at the entrance to Swaledale, the market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. The town grew up around its castle, a Norman fortress dating back to 1071. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The Georgian Theatre is one of the oldest surviving theatres in the country with visitors enjoying its regular productions all year round.

What a beautiful cottage! Well kept clean tastefully decorated and contains everything you need. I must say one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. With that and the complete silence we had the best sleep ever! Close to town centre and even are own parking spot can't beat it!
Just come back from stating in Olive Cottage. There is everything there for your stay. Such as a full size fridge, a microwave, toaster and a oven an hob if you wish to cook. The cottage was clean and tidy. We had lots of information on places to go and places to eat out.. I would recommend the cottage without a doubt. It was so quiet due to the fact there was no traffic or anyone walking pass the cottage.
Richmond is lovely and this cottage is in a good location. The bed is comfortable but the downstairs room (the cottage is a one up - one down) is very cramped and less comfortable. The place was clean except for the crockery and utensils - I can understand the owners rely on tenants to keep these clean but I didn't expect on Day One having to pull-out everything we would use during the week and give a good clean. It would have been helpful to have had a telephone number for the owner as we did have a problem (the shower leaked through the ceiling to the downstairs room) and there was some delay having to go through the booking company (Sykes Cottages). This is a high-density housing area - we may have been unfortunate with the noise from builders next door.
Very clean and comfortable. Great location close to town centre but quiet and with parking, could not fault it at all.
