Reviews

We had a lovely week here, even though the weather wasn’t great. The trains run in front of the house, which was good for keeping the adults and kids. amused. You can walk to the station and get the train into Skipton or to Leeds. The village has two pubs, a lovely village store which caters for everyone. There is a park with a nice play area and football pitch in the village. The house has two rooms on the top floor, accessible via a very small staircase. You have to go through one bedroom to gain access to the bathroom, so ok for a family. The next floor down has four bedrooms, one ensuite, this room has a shin breaking bed, as the mattress sits well inside the frame. I counted this by placing pillows and cushions on the bottom two legs. What I liked about the bedrooms was there was no tv’s taking up wall space. Downstairs is a very well equipped kitchen, but as with all holiday lets no cupboard space to put food in. The welcome pack was one of the best we’ve received. The dining room table can seat 10 and there are three sitting areas. There is a small utility room with a washer, but no tumble dryer which was missed with having wet weather and couldn’t dry outside. The garden isn’t very big for children to play in and the outside table only small, but plenty of chairs. There is parking in front of the house, where you will be blocked in, if you have more than two cars. There is an area with trees which could have been made into parking bays, as you either come in front wards and reverse out or reverse in. There is two ways to get up to the house, the left up the slope where the bins are brought down, or on the right by the steps. The steps are steep and narrow, so if you are unsteady on your feet, the slope is better to use and both take you round to the front and back of the house. The water pressure can be fierce in the kitchen, so the kitchen floor got cleaned or you got wet and we had to say who was in the shower, as if someone was running a bath on the first floor, the water went off on the second floor. Would I go again, the answer would be yes, if we were with extended family.
