A stone-built cottage located in the heart of West Witton, appreciated for its countryside surroundings and the notable Bolton Castle. Providing guests with a wonderful holiday experience, this unique retreat is tucked away from the hustle and bustle, offering you the best of the village charm. The ground floor is home to a comfortable lounge, complemented by leather sofas, a characterful woodburner and ceiling beams for a hint of tradition. Cosy up amongst it all, or spend some time enjoying the modernised kitchen, complete with cream-coloured units and a contemporary overtone, elevated by a range of essentials to ensure a leisurely stay. For a peaceful night’s sleep, the twin bedroom makes an excellent choice, whilst the next floor houses a king-size bed wrapped in a more neutral design. A wonderful family bathroom finishes the accommodation; an all-white suite with a bath and overhead shower. The local pubs are only a short stroll away should you wish to pay a visit, followed by an hour or two in the enclosed yard, with its own patio area. West Witton enjoys dramatic views of Penhill and its limestone scars, along with lush rolling countryside and the neighbouring fells. Leyburn, with its wide range of amenities and weekly market makes a lovely day out, and Middleham which boasts Norman Castle, famous racing stables and a pretty old market square is just as promising. A delightful base to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

Hope Cottage is well equipped for self-catering. It’s cosy and comfortable for resting in between hill walks and adventuring. West Witton is an ideal base for a Dales holiday. Loads of exciting and interesting places to explore in every direction. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in The Fox and Hounds just a few doors away. It would take hours to list every positive thing about staying in Hope Cottage, suffice to say this was our second holiday here and our enjoyment-ometer went off the scale once again.
