Reviews

Me and my family stayed here last month, 6 of us in total. 3 of which are disabled. We had a lovely stay at this nice property although very dated, which lots of reviews already state. We did have a couple of incidents which were reported to the owner. The first one happened in the dining room. There were 6 dining room chairs, 3 of one kind and 3 of another. They were very wobbly and we commented daily on these. One morning my disabled cousin sat down for her breakfast and she literally fell through the chair, the legs just buckled. She already has a bad back so was in distress and obviously the shock of the event. The owner was called straight away to report it however we were unable to reach her so left a voicemail. She rang back and left a voicemail which we still have, saying she will assess it when we leave the property and that she was sorry it happened. Now I've been to a lot of holiday homes in my time, roughly 5 a year and if anyone is hurt or there is an issue in one of the owners properties, the decent thing to do is come and check everyone is ok, take the chair away and apologise. On close inspection of the chairs, they all had glue sticking them back together, photos have been taken and have been sent to sykes who we booked though. The other small incident that happened was i myself got locked in the downstairs bathroom due to the lock being dodgy. Other than these incidents we had a lovely holiday and left a nice review. To our horror we recieved an email from sykes the other day saying the owner has complained about us damaging her property, she has said we done the following: Smashed a chair to pieces Broke a slat on a bed and Rived the breakfast bar off the wall. Now this is complete lies. We are a family of 6, 3 being disabled, 4 of us pentioners. The youngest being me at 31, so no children, no party animals. We go on lots of stay cations each year and have never had anything said about us. We always leave the place cleaner than when we arrived. We literally cleaned every room before we left, took all the linen off the bed and in piles for the cleaner. We are disgusted that such lies have been told about us. As i say we do have photographic evidence of how unsafe the chairs were. If you look at all the reviews the majority say how dated the furniture is. We are extreamly upset about this and hope the owner sees sence and retracts the lies before it goes any further. The voicemail and photos are on there way to sykes, so hopefully they will see how we are genuine people. To have our names slammed as being something were not is very upsetting. Ive had my severely disabled mother in tears to me yesterday, so as you can imagine I am sad and angry at this situation. So my advice this is a beautiful properly but if you go, take as many pictures when you get there and lots when you are leaving.

All of our party could not believe the space within this property. The location was good too. The windmill was a good place to take the 2 and 3 year olds. It was clean and we did appreciate the milk, tea, coffee etc. We had good weather, so we were glad the lawn had been cut, as we played games out there with the children and dog. Best thing about this property was it's size. Nice to have our own bathrooms too.

Woodhill is a lovely property with great views and in a very quiet location. We had everything we needed. We were lucky with the weather, even sat in the garden . Our little dog loved her holiday as well .

A large clean comfortable house in a good location. There was lots of space for all the family. It had easy access to Hull and the East coast.

This was a fantastic rental property. The bedrooms were well furnished and the whole house, which had lovely views, worked really well for a large mixed party. The owner was very helpful too and nothing was too much trouble. A very well placed property for travelling to Hull, Beverley, York etc or for just taking a stroll in the countryside or to nearby Cottingham.

An ideal location for our golfing holiday, with everything we required in the house. It was nice and quiet in the evenings, and was within walking/short drive to eat out.

This was our 4th visit to the property and as always we found it very relaxing. The views are very good over the golf course, there is no traffic noise and every room is very spacious. The WiFi works well and we like the various TVs in the lounge and bedrooms. We are returning again in November. We also like the Half- Moon pub within walking distance in Skidby.

This was the perfect place for a family gathering to attend a family wedding in Beverly. Roomy, pleasant, lovely views and a lovely garden area (but watch out for the rabbit holes!) For those energetic enough, there were plenty of places to visit during our holiday, and for those less able, the house and gardens were lovely to relax in. My 87- year- old father in law summed it up when he said: "This is a lovely place, I could stay here for 12 months!" A very successful holiday.

There were 7 of us staying at Woodhill and we arrived Monday 30th late afternoon and left on Friday afternoon 3 rd January. We had a fabulous New Year in this well appointed spacious house. There is a large kitchen, dining room and lounge and 4 en suite bedrooms as well as a further large downstairs toilet. We didn't need to ask for anything, everything was to hand. If I was being picky I would say take a couple of tea towels as we didn't always want to use the dishwasher but that is a matter of personal choice. We ate in on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and were able to buy everything we needed at one of the nearby supermarkets. The remaining 2 nights we visited restaurants, The Millhouse, very good about 1 mile away ,and Lazaats also very good Asian restaurant within walking distance of the house. The owner was most helpful in recommending eating places, things to do etc. would visit again.

This was our 3rd visit to the property and we have booked again next year. It is very spacious making it easy to entertain friends. We also like the area with a good pub, The Half Moon at Skidby, offering excellent, good value food. Easy for dog walking..

We enjoyed our time at Woodhill, there was lots of space for four adults and three children. It was peaceful and relaxing being adjacent to the golf course. The cottage is only a short distance from the main Willerby/Cottingham to Beverley Road but there was no traffic noise. Probably because the cottage allows pets to use the ground floor areas the carpets were a little grubby and would benefit from a clean. That said the facilities provided were first class with a fully kitted out kitchen and utility room. The beds were comfortable and warm. Overall an enjoyable week's stay.

This was our second stay which was thoroughly enjoyable. Our friends also were impressed. It is well positioned for short journeys to the Humber bridge,Beverley and Cottingham and has a couple of nearby pubs worth a visit. The views over the golf course are lovely and the property is dog friendly. We shall hopefully return again.

The spaciousness of the property - ideally suited to our needs which was for a base for our family of 3 generations for a wedding at nearby Rowley Church and Hall, and also centrally located for visiting nearby tourist attractions for the rest of the week.

Rated by Mrs Morris reviewed on 13th May 2013

The house is very comfortable, ideal for a big family with its 4 bathrooma, TV in every room and WiFi. The situation on the golf course is fantastic, very quiet. Everybody loved the stay.

Rated by Mrs Simoneau reviewed on 5th May 2013

This is very well appointed, spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to four couples. It has four en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen, dining room and lounge, and looks out onto an attractively undulating golf course. The garden is extensive and there is ample parking space for four vehicles. The location, roughly midway between Hull and Beverley, is very quiet and peaceful. My only reservation concerns the en suite facilities: the main bedroom is huge and luxuriously furnished, but the bath is rather small and though it has a shower attachment the water pressure is too weak to be effective. The other bedrooms have showers, but in one of them there was no hot water, so guests sleeping in that room had to use someone else's showering facilities. This fault aside, my wife and our friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and for a week's stay in such large premises it was very moderately priced.

A lovely house with great facilities. The view over the golf course was splendid. Lots of hot water and heating if needed and large rooms.

Rated by Mrs Headley reviewed on 25th July 2012

Very well presented. T.V.too small for the lounge. otherwise a very well equipped holiday venue My wife has difficulty rising from low furniture. It would have been a bonus to have a "Parker Knoll" type chair for her to use.

We stayed for a week with 3 generations of family while some members were searching for more permanent accommodation near Hull. This was a perfect location for that. We also explored the local area including trips to York. The rooms were large and all had ensuites. The kitchen was large and pleasant. There were several vases of fresh flowers in the house when we arrived which were really lovely. Very comfortable. None of us were golfers but if you were it would be almost heaven being located right on the golf links. We were lucky to get a great low season rate which added to our satisfaction.
