Two bedrooms: 1 x twin with en suite shower room with double shower, WC and basin downstairs, 1 x king size double with en suite bathroom with slipper bath, hand shower, WC and basin upstairs. On the ground floor is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room.

This detached timber-clad cottage is located on the owners’ four acre smallholding on a hill in Dalwood. Converted from a barn, it is comfortable accommodation for families or adults. The kitchen is smartly fitted in beech and stainless steel, and comes with a dining area for enjoying meals. The sitting room is light and airy with huge glass doors leading to a balustrade for a magnificent view over the surrounding hills. You can choose from a handy family bedroom downstairs or the pretty double which you will find in the eaves up the steep narrow stairs, together with its en suite bathroom with central romantic slipper bath. The garden is a peaceful place to relax, with lawn, furniture and a barbecue for alfresco meals. Steps lead you up through a gate to a deck where you can absorb those wonderful country views. Wander down the easy footpath through fields into the village to browse in the village shop, eat at the good pub or visit the vineyard. This is a conservation area with lots of footpaths, so it’s great walking country in the Blackdown Hills or along the coast around Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer or Sidmouth. Reviews

Little Evanses is a beautiful cottage in a perfect place. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming, the cottage is both cosy and modern. The cottage has everything you could need and we really enjoyed our week in Dalwood. It was wonderful to sit on the garden decking and watch the wild birds, rabbits and the lovely hens- it felt like a real rural escape. We’d love to come back in the future.

We would totally recommend this beautiful cottage. The owners are very friendly and accommodating; the cottage is very well appointed; and the views are absolutely outstanding! We came at the same time last year. Even if the weather isn't great, the cottage is so cosy and the autumn colours are still vibrant, that it's just as special staying indoors as it is going out. We stayed during the middle of November and amazingly there were still red roses adorning the cottage. There is plenty of room for two couples to stay without getting under each other's feet. We loved watching the sheep in the nearby field, the gaggle of hens in the garden and the multitude of birds outside the kitchen window. The lack of light pollution makes star gazing unbelievable. The narrow lanes take a bit of getting used to, but as there is so little traffic it doesn't take long to feel comfortable. There is easy access to many beautiful towns and villages including Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. We can't wait to return again next year!!!

This cottage was excellent and in a fabulous setting. It is definitely in our top 5 self-catering cottages and we would not hesitate to recommend it. The owners were charming and we loved their animals - a veritable menagerie! The views were amazing and we liked the village too, everyone you passed was friendly. The pub was a "good food" pub, we had 2 excellent meals there. We were lucky to have sunny (though cold) weather in April.
