This is a charming one-bedroom, stone-built end terrace, converted barn in the village of Polyphant near Launceston in Cornwall. It has a modern yet traditional country feel, ideally suited for a couple who want to get away on a nice romantic break full of relaxation in this peaceful village. As you enter this lovely cottage you will find an open-plan living area with a contemporary-style kitchen, dining and sitting area with a beautiful, cosy woodburning stove at the heart of the home. Adding to its charming old-time characteristics is the stable-style front door, beamed ceilings and exposed stone wall features in the bedroom. Outside is a beautiful, quaint garden with a gravel patio. Why not sit and relax on the comfy chairs with a couple of drinks and nibbles while the sun sets for the evening? Or snuggle up on the sofa in colder months and enjoy the glow of the lit wood fire. The beautiful village green and local shop are only a couple of minutes’ walk away, perfect for a morning stroll. Polyphant is the perfect base to explore Cornwall and Devon and is ideally situated within driving distance from the north and south coast. Bodmin and Dartmoor are also within easy reach, and places like the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within 45 minutes so you won't be stuck for things to do and places to visit. The beautiful chocolate-box seaside towns of Bude and Padstow are definitely worth a visit. This delightful accommodation for two is the perfect base for exploring with a loved one.
The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Visit the Tamar Otter Park just 3 miles away or take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow to the north, and Plymouth to the south, as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.

Beautifully furnished comfortable and inviting. The Woodburner warms the home quickly and gives added character. So much to do in surrounding areas and the locals are extremely polite. I recommend visiting the little shop their cakes are delicious. Allocated parking spot helps too. Selection of dvds games and cards available in the cottage and book of things to do and full info on cottage. Plenty of wood, kindling available and the lovely welcome items helped (Tea bags, coffee, biscuits sugar sachets) Out trip was for necessity to see a sick family member but this cottage made it feel like a break away trip which helped ease the stress. highly recommend you won't be disappointed
