Reviews

This is like a hotel suite in the middle of the village. Big kitchen, very cosy living room and two decent size bedrooms with thin duvets and small TVs. Wood burning log but we did not use it. Modern bathroom: bathtub and separate shower. Fluffy grey towels. The landscape around is mainly rural and chalk fields. Whitby 1,15 h, York 50 min. It is by the passing road with rear parking but quiet at night. Only small patio with afternoon sun, no real garden. Walk available behind the property. Both bedrooms at the roadside. Very small windows so cottage is dark inside. Skylight window in the bathroom, no blind but not overlooked. Village is pretty with the pond but no facilities so come prepared. Nice welcome pack from the owners. They are very efficient and civil but not overly friendly or on first name terms. You can tell they are running the business and not there to make friends with guests but that’s ok too.
