Reviews

From start to finish, our break at the Railway Carriage was absolutely perfect. We were met on arrival (at a social distance) by Nicola and Darren who were very welcoming and made myself, my wife and our two dogs feel at home straight away. The carriage itself is secluded in a beautiful location overlooking fields with views over the Brecon Beacons. Inside it had everything we needed and it was a pleasant surprise to find a lovely lemon drizzle cake and all of the essentials including milk, coffee etc. This was a great find and we loved waking up in the morning and feeding the two very friendly horses, walking in the local countryside during the day and relaxing by the fire pit with a glass of wine in the evenings. We can't wait to return - Nicola and Darren should be very proud of what they've created.

We were greeted by Keith with a warm welcome, and we were delighted to meet his family during our stay too. This charming railway carriage/cottage is situated in a tranquil setting, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It is deceptively spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were able to relax and unwind. We made use of the cleverly designed fire pit to enjoy a bbq and sat gazing at the stars ✨ into the night...listening to the hoot of the resident owl in the fir trees.. Our dogs were made welcome and seemed to enjoy the experience as much as we did, especially exercising in the adjacent field with the resident horses and sheep, the canal walks, and socialising with their canine pals down by the river in Abergavenny. ❤️ We also enjoyed an amazing time of worship at Gateway Church in Abergavenny on Sunday morning. Memories to treasure. "what is this life,if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare..."
