Reviews

We had booked for the week, but by Thursday we'd had enough. The place was reasonably clean and well equipped. The beds were clean and the beds comfortable. The reviews appeared good so perhaps it's just us. We understand its a working farm, but for us it was a bit more rustic than we expected. It was just not appealing for us unless you fancy sharing your holiday with the Chickens, geese, ducks, peacocks, barking dogs etc. The kitchen was cramped and the tap had come loose, we had to tie the tap in place as it was all loose. The second bathroom radiator wasn't working, but in truth so was the whole place. It could be nice bright and moderised, but there's just too much dark dated wood furniture. Some may find it's rustic charm appealing, but unfortunately not for us.

We stayed at The new Lodge at Gelli Glud Fri to Monday. This is our second visit to the farm, we Love it so much. We where welcomed by Barbara, with a bottle of Cava, Butter, milk, bread, eggs and Victoria Sandwich(paid for). The lodge is beautifully decorated and very well equipped to a high standard with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The beds are comfortable with white cotton sheets and goose feather duvets and pillows. The lodge is very clean and you can tell Barbara has made it her own with all the touches in it. The views of the mountain from the back of the odge and terrace are simply fabulous. We loved the welcome from the farm animals each morning. The added addition of the Hot Tub was a nice surprise. We didn't use it, but will next time. This is charged at £20 per day. We cannot recommend Gelli Glud enough and cannot wait to return

Spent New Year here, far enough away to be quiet, but close to all places if needed. The place was pristine with gorgeous bedding. Helen made us cake and Welsh cakes which were still warm. The geese having a bath in the morning were hilarious, with all the cats around too. Just perfect, we were sad to leave .

We have stayed in several cottages in the area and I have to say this is up there with the best. Nestled in the mountains not to far from all of the main attractions. The cottage is very cosy and well equipped. it is clear the owner Bethan has put a lot of thought into making your stay as comfortable as possible, even having a tea tray ready for us on arrival with a beautiful home made cake. Perfect after a long journey. All rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, the bed being one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We didn’t manage to get any Wifi which was not a problem for us as it ensured a proper relaxing break with no distractions. Situated on a farm with ducks, geese, chickens and cats wandering freely we were concerned our two large dogs may have been a problem, however it soon became clear the animals were not at all concerned by them even the cats. Please do not feed the cats as this has caused problems for the owner, she looks after them perfectly they don’t need the extras! I will certainly be booking again as this ticked all the boxes for a lovely relaxing week

Lovely cozy cottage surrounded by hens, ducks and very curious and affectionate cats. Take tinned fish for them. Bethan will stock you up with cake eggs milk etc in return
