Reviews

This cottage is the perfect base for exploring Mallaig, Isle of Skye and the Small Isles. It was spotless, beds were really comfy, and it had all the equipment and utilities you’d have at home plus digital tv, DVD player, games and DVDs. Wood burner made for a super cosy relaxing evening when the weather got a bit wet. One morning there wasn’t hot water, but this was very quickly resolved by contacting the owner who just turned it back on remotely, they also provided plenty recommendations and helpful tips for enjoying the area and our stay. A short walk out the back garden and over a very low dune and you’re on the white sands of Morar - such a beautiful beach! We swam in the clear water and enjoyed collecting shells on this beautiful stretch of beach outside the back door! Super quiet and peaceful location - if you need to unwind and relax this is a perfect spot to do it away from hustle and bustle, but close to boat trips from Mallaig and Arisaig, and local walks and places to eat. The scenery is mind blowing in this part of Scotland, we enjoyed a day trip to Skye too. Fort William not far on the train. Cottage would benefit (I think) from a bigger sofa but other than that it was great!

Very disappointed with this, we left 3 days early the description is very misleading the 60 steps to the beach is more like giant strides along a path that is treacherous when wet. No hot water when we arrived, unable to contact owner until after 10pm. and received very little help in sorting the problem. No TV a problem with the aerial that wasn't sorted until Wednesday, when we where already at home. Very little to do in the area so the evenings where very boring. We where left a small carton of milk and some coffee, which was damp and solid, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, even found tissues stuffed between bed and bed head disgusting.
