Willow 80, Llansteffan

I wouldn’t agree with the modern description in the write up. The wood chip wall paper that is sagging off the walls, the duck tape fixed sofa and the old person smell and entry contradict that. The other knock is the master bed. Bad springs gone on one side, the hard no give mattress and lack of a flat sheet made this a not very comfortable place to sleep. The parking is also poor but more a site reflection. Narrow spaces, poor parking of others on a narrow site road for modern sized cars. Again more to do with the size and age of elm rise than the cottage. Now the good points. The cottage is clean and well stocked. It’s a step up in size and space than a static caravan. Plugs all over, plenty of heaters if it gets cold and a nice most modern of the cabin kitchen. You can cook easily on site with no issues. The games books and dvds are a nice touch. The owners did give a nice welcoming touch of cake, fruit, cream and milk on arrival. The site, has WiFi but there was no information in the cottage or office (closed on bank holiday) of the password. A small oversight for us but others might find this an issue. The pool is nice but think rural pool not local leisure centre but Breyer than I was expecting. Having a lifeguard on sight was a great and key feature. I mentioned the parking and narrow roads as a issue before. If you have an suv or bigger, watch out. The site is dog friendly. Watch out for dog poo in the grass (one was right outside our gate and wasn’t cleared in days). The barking goes on late into the night. Especially across from number 80 with a yapping little thing. Boozed helped dole that out. Wasn’t a issue for us but worth noting. The location of the site was good for walkers and near beaches either side of Carmarthen. I would consider staying here again but would look for locations nearer the bigger beach areas with our kids. I would not say I would never come back.
