A lovely little cottage. Like a home from home. Everything you could need for a short stay is provided. The bed is comfy and in the winter it's warm as well. The hot tub is perfect nice and private. The village is a nice little area the pizza shop is perfect but a must visit is the robin hood pub. It's the perfect place for exploring the surrounding areas and it's somewhere I'd come back too.

Wow where can I start with this lovely cottage! We have had a lovely time and have really enjoyed our stay (gutted to be going home tomorrow). I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s set out lovely and the hot tub is an absolutely amazing bonus! We love the fact that the hot tub area is private and also locked off so that our pup could roam whilst we managed to relax and unwind, just what we have needed after not having a holiday or getaway for the last 3 years. Thank you so much for making the place so welcoming with the bottle of wine, biscuits and treats for our pup upon us entering the cottage, lovely added touch which we really appreciate. Will definitely recommend to family and friends and hopefully we will return in the future. Thank you Mike, Nat and Rio (the staffy pup)

Booked for a late getaway for a week, this cottage didn't fail to disappoint. On arrival Guy met us and showed us the hot tub and explained the parking. Anything else we needed we just had to ask, very friendly and helpful approach. The cottage itself had everything and suited us, our little dog loved it. Very clean and tidy and very warm. Enjoyed our numerous trips off with the hot tub in the evening all-in all an excellent stay would highly recommend

We booked to stay at The White House very last minute as we lost our previous holiday booked through Thomas Cook! We were so happy to get somewhere in the first place and so our expectations were not high but we were very happy with our stay. The cottage was easy to find and the directions given were simple. When we arrived Guy and Emma had left us a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. The cottage itself was very cosy and quiet. Our elderly dog Yazmin had a lovely time and settled in quickly. The information provided at the cottage about the surrounding area was also very helpful. Overall we had a lovely unexpected trip away and would certainly stay again!

Myself and my husband had four nights in this lovely cottage as a 50th birthday treat for him. The cottage is so nice and warm and cosy and has everything you need. The hot tub was absolutely great and the local pub did great food too ! The owners Guy and Emma are very helpful and are always at the end of the phone if you need them, they also left us a bottle of Prosecco as a welcome gift which was a lovely touch. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and will definitely be returning.

Lovely cottage with a great central location, ideal for visiting York, Bridlington, Whitby etc Hot tub adds that little etc, and we made full use of it during our stay. Not lots to do in the village apart from chinese takeaway and the Robin Hood pub {only two minutes away and good food with reasonable prices} Hopefully be back soon!!!

We had such a lovely time. The owners of the cottage were really friendly. The cottage itself was lovely and clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The cottage was close to everything we wanted to see, but far enough away that it felt like we were in the countryside. The hot tub was brilliant, we went in every day. It was a perfect get away.

My girlfriend & I had our first holiday away together here and it was a great find. Ideal place to stay in close enough to loads of great places. Hot tub was brilliant to sit in with the snow falling on your heads (but not feeling it... Until you get out!). Would love to stay again, couldn't really have asked for more.

Spotless accommodation. The owners were helpful whenever we asked any questions. We would like to go there again and have already told some friends about The White House.

Rated by Mr Fairbotham reviewed on 1st August 2012

The owners were extremely helpful. They gave me all sorts of advice, printed out maps and bus schedules for me, and even gave me a couple of lifts into the nearest town. They invited me to their son's christening party and overall made me feel very welcome. The people there, in Middleton, were very kind and helpful. There were all sorts of little walks to go on that they had told me about. It was peaceful and relaxing. It exceeded my expectations.
