Located in a perfect location for heathland walks with direct access from the garden and a short walk to the beach with stunning Old Harry Rocks nearby, this cottage is a delightful property in Studland village. With a terrace where you can enjoy a drink, cosy sitting room with wood burner where you can cosy up with a book or just relax after a day spent outdoors. Prepare a delicious meal in a very well-equipped kitchen with all necessary appliances. There is one step up from the sitting room into the kitchen. The bedrooms are comfortable and give you a good rest before venturing out to the beach or heathlands. Studland cottage is perfect for walkers with abundance of walking options starting from your garden. Keep your eyes peeled and you might just notice something new every day. The property welcomes two well-behaved dogs, so don’t worry about leaving your furry friend home. The busy Poole is a ferry ride away with famous Brownsea Island, numerous beaches and heathland. If you want to explore a bit further, Swanage and Wareham with stunning Corfe Castle are only a short drive away. Or you can take a walk across beautiful Dorset countryside and take a bus ride home. You may take a steam train to Corfe Castle from Swanage with beautiful scenery along the journey. It’s one of the favourite attractions for children too. Kimmeridge bay, Lulworth Cove and stunning arc of Durdle Door are a short drive away too. Studland Cottage is a brilliant base for walkers and those who enjoy being surrounded by nature and have dogs.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

Reviews

The pros:- Nicely decorated and very well appointed. Cons:- To get from the bedrooms to the bathroom you have to go down the stairs, through the lounge and kitchen and down a short corridor. Quite a trek in the night! The “king size” beds are standard 4’6”. If you have dogs, it is not quite as friendly as it makes out - the welcome book stipulates that dogs should not be left in the property on their own, and to get to the grassed garden behind the cottage you need to go through the courtyard gate, across a narrow alley and through the gate to the garden.
