If you're more of a roamer than a rambler, take a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey these striking ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit.

The outdoor space is just as impressive as the interior with 360 degree vistas across heather and hill, with cosmopolitan Ilkley nestling far below.
