For great food served with unmissable views, take your pick from beachside cafes at Hive Beach in Burton Bradstock (2 miles) or West Bay, home of the TV series Broadchurch (4 miles). If you re more of a culture vulture and fancy a taste of town vibes, travel 3 miles away to Bridport or 13.5 miles to the picture postcard Lyme Regis, where there is plenty on offer for all generations. Head along the pretty streamside path, past three other properties and towards the cottage. Take the pathway in the garden towards the cottage where you will cross a small gravelled courtyard and step into the hallway. Leave your shoes, coats and worries behind and make your way in. The sitting room is a lovely room, blending classic and contemporary styles, balancing traditional features with modern home comforts. Kitted with two plump sofas and an armchair to sink into once you are ready, you can thumb through the pages of a good book or tune into your favourite series on TV (Freeview and streaming services available). In the colder months, the toasty wood burner is a welcome addition and throws an amber glow around the room. From the sitting room, two steps lead you down into the kitchen. With a dining table and access to the garden, the kitchen will be a firm favourite with all the family. Equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, coffee machine and lots of utensils, you can prepare your favourite meals.
