The River Wye meanders along the base of the valley, where you ll also find the peaceful village of Tintern, famed for the ruins of Tintern Abbey. Chepstow is nearby, a bustling town with a good selection of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, and is steeped in history with a castle that is the oldest surviving post Roman stone fortification in Britain. The area is also rich in heritage, with many castles including Goodrich, Monmouth, and Raglan Castle.
