Wander into Pooley Bridge for a cup of tea or dine out in a local pub. Climb Heughscar Hill behind the village for far reaching views out across Ullswater. Catch one of the famous steamers in the village and disembark at Aira Force to see the impressive waterfall. Head into Penrith, 6 miles away, to browse in independent shops and buy fresh produce in the farmers market. Hire boats, go canoeing or have a go at paddle boarding on Ullswater during your stay. Climb the steps up to the cottage and leave your coats and shoes in the porch. Wander on through into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where French doors can be opened up on to the raised deck on warm spring and summer days. This bright room is also the perfect place to relax together, watch the Smart TV and DVD player settle in the window seat to take in the picturesque views. Take a step up into the kitchen/diner area to gather round the table at mealtimes or to wander outside. The kitchen area itself has everything you will need for preparing those holiday feasts. Discover an integral fan oven, halogen hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Wander down the hall to find the bedrooms and bathrooms. Two of these have king size beds, TVs with Freeview, and en suite shower rooms. There is also a twin room, which enjoys access to the family bathroom, with bath, with shower above.
