Situated close to the Lake District National Park and on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Natural Beauty, there are plenty of wonderful walking routes on the doorstep. Blencarn Fly Fishing is less than a mile away, and a route to the summit of Cross Fell, the highest mountain in the Pennines, is accessible from the property. Local villages within a 4 mile radius have pubs serving local beers and ales, bakeries, tea rooms and independent shops. For alternative outdoor fun, Askham open air swimming pool (seasonal) is 13 miles away. For interesting days out, head to Pooley Bridge and Ullswater (within 20 miles). Historic Appleby (7 miles) and Kirkby Stephen (21 miles) have some lovely historic buildings, castle, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
