Today the Castle recaptures its historical heyday as a special place for friends and families to come together to celebrate a special birthday or occasion. The local area is steeped in history and has so much to offer, lovers of the great outdoors will feel at home here. A local distillery is a short drive away as are the magnificent Cairngorms. As you enter the castle, there is a large atmospheric hallway and a beautiful entrance hall with a grand staircase. On the ground floor you will find a lounge bar, luxurious formal lounge with views over the deer park and lovely open fire, a billiard room with TV and full size snooker table. Next comes the well equipped kitchen complete with electric oven and hob, microwave fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a small study and a separate WC. Head up the staircase to the first floor and you will discover four spacious bedrooms with lots of original features and luxurious finishing touches. There is a super king size bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower over free standing claw bath and WC, while across the hallway there is a king size four poster bedroom with en suite shower room with WC. Further down the hallway are two twin zip and link rooms (which can be made into a super king size bed on request). There is a spacious family bathroom on this floor which has a beautiful free standing bath in the centre of the room, separate hydro shower and a WC. The final room in the West Wing is the library which is the ideal place to hide away and read a good book. As you cross the landing you will find yourself in the East Wing, here you will find four more bedrooms and a formal dining room/function room. There is a king size, twin zip and link beds (which can be made into a super king size on request), a family bedroom which has two king size beds and finally a master emperor bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a free standing clawfoot bath, separate hydro shower and WC. There is another family bathroom between the bedrooms which has a bath with a rain shower over and WC. All the bedrooms feature a mini fridge, Espresso coffee machine and Sonos sound systems. You are free to explore the estate, there are some lovely walks, and the wildlife is exceptional. Look out for the deer herd on the banks of a lochan, and you may also spot otters, eagles, red squirrels and woodpeckers. Parking is not a problem there is plenty of parking to the rear of the castle and you will find shops and restaurants just a mile away in Fettercairn..
