There are fifteen mountain bikes for guests to enjoy, seven are E mountain bikes. Custom built entertainment can be arranged for guests, the Estate Manager can organise private horse riding lessons or a trek across the stunning countryside, clay pigeon shooting and archery. You can even organise your very own Highland Games event with a number of activities including Tossing the Caber, Haggis Hurling, Hammer Throwing, Farmer s Dash and many more! Surrounded by Championship Golf Courses, the small yet handy town of Turnberry is just 7 miles away. Guests of all ages and abilities, including children, can book lessons at some of the nearby Golf Courses. As you enter this magnificent traditional castle, head up the stone staircase past the resident knight to the first floor. The Great Hall is the heart of the castle with wood panelled walls, antique furniture, artwork adorning the walls, and the impressive chandelier which is over 2 metres in length. There is a stunning ceiling mural which was created by an Italian artist from Florence, it is an extraordinary painting that honours the Cathcart clan and Killochan Castle. You will find access to two more turret staircases from the Great Hall, the service staircase and the secret staircase leading you to one of the master bedrooms above and access into the Snug. Next door to the Great Hall you will find the bespoke kitchen which has a huge feature island with a granite worktop, a Smart TV and feature antler chandelier. Along the corridor, there is a handy WC bathroom. Head from the kitchen along the hallway you will find two bedrooms, a king and a single which share a bathroom. The informal TV Lounge offers a great space to relax, play board games, read a good book or watch the Smart TV. If you fancy a movie night, the Cinema Room is the place to be, with comfortable seating and a great sound system. Head up three stone steps from the Great Hall to the Dining Hall, a magnificent room, exquisitely decorated with a trompe d oeil effect ceiling and an imposing dining table at the centre of the room laid with the finest antique silverware sourced from the most established silver traders in London. Restored to its former glory, allowing ample space for drinks, gatherings and a true banquet dinner. Head up the spiral staircase and you will find a further seven bedrooms, three super king size (one can be made up as a twin on request), three king four poster two en suite) and a single.
