For lovely days out visit Ullswater (9 miles), Derwentwater (14 miles) and Bassenthwaite (17 miles), some of Lakeland s loveliest lakes, offering kayaking, boating and steamer ferry rides. For keen cyclists, Whitbarrow village is also located on the National Cycle Network. The iconic fells of Blencathra, Skiddaw and Helvellyn are a short drive, along with other classic hiking routes.
