Right in the heart of the pretty coastal village of Slapton and close to the beaches,Barn Cottage is perfect for family holidays or smaller parties wanting plenty of space. There's a welcoming ambience to this traditionally furnished cottage where it's easy to quickly relax and enjoy your holiday. There's plenty of living space, so all the family will be able to find somewhere to unwind, including a cosy sitting room with woodburner, impressive dining room, large modern kitchen, a sunroom overlooking the sunny garden and four good size bedrooms.
Slapton is a perfect location for exploring this gorgeous part of the South Hams, with the south west coastal path nearby for those who love walking with the dog and Slapton Ley nature reserve for ornithologists. The village has a couple of good pubs and a village shop and driving to local attractions and the nearby towns of Dartmouth and Kingsbridge is easy. We love this cottage although it's homely rather than pristine with the edges knocked off in places, but that doesn't detract from its appeal and we can't think of a place better suited to enjoy a relaxed holiday with friends and family.
Please Note that Barn Cottage will only sleep 8 guests -6 adults and 2 children including infants and is unsuitable for those with walking disabilities.
Accommodation: Entrance hall. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Ground floor study with occasional single 3ft bed. Steps down to modern kitchen with ceramic hob, integrated oven, grill and microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and breakfast table with seating for 6. Dining room with seating for 8. Sitting room with sofas and armchairs surrounding inglenook fireplace with wood burner stove, TV and DVD. Sunroom overlooking the garden with cane seating and table and chairs to seat 6. Downstairs cloakroom with hand basin and WC. Stairs to first floor and master bedroom 1 with 5ft bed and en suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. Bedroom 2 with 5ft bed. Bedroom 3 with 5ft double bed. Large family bathroom with roll top bath, hand shower, hand basin and WC. Steps down to twin bedroom 4 with two 3ft beds and en suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
Outside: Large sunny garden with views of the village and church with terrace furnished with garden table and chairs.
Parking for two cars directly in front of cottage off road.
