You can walk on top of the bank towards Chesil Beach visitor centre where you can find out more about Dorset wildlife. If you enjoy fishing the sea adjacent to the cottage is one of the more popular fishing marks for locals, try and catch your tea while the rest of the family relax in the sun. Alternatively, enjoy a meal and drink at the adjacent Cove Inn which has a terrace overlooking the beach or Quiddles, just along the esplanade which serves fresh seafood. There are also a variety of takeaways, pubs and restaurants including the acclaimed Blue Fish Cafe within a few minutes’ walk. Local shops are also conveniently located a ten-minute stroll away. Try a walk along the South West coastal path from here which in its entirety is 630 miles long. One of the sections goes around the rugged landscape of the Isle of Portland with three lighthouses, XIII century church ruins, Rufus castle, Portland Harbour and more.
