Acres of gardens range from manicured lawns framed with fragrant blossoming plants, dining pergola, dazzling pool and terrace, as well as ancient trees and mysterious woodlands.

Whether it be an informal snack, or a post walk meal, this is a true country “pile,” with ample historical attraction as well as modern day, state of the art comforts, including the entertainment options, cinema room and range of downtime facilities.

Sumptuous bathrooms offer tasteful luxury with stunning free-standing bath for a boutique hotel feel. The lavish and opulent fuse with the modern and sleek in this unique home. Purnell Manor accommodates up to eighteen guests across a range of double and twin bedrooms as well as two guest beds. Not every room has its own en-suite, yet there are plenty of bathrooms, and children in the group may wish to share!

Whether it be entertaining as a group, a warming family meal prepared on the Aga, or cocktails after a game of croquet beside the elegant fountain, this rambling home offers sumptuous Georgian architecture, stunning period fireplaces, cosy yet chic bedrooms - a true retreat from the bustle of modern-day living - within a tranquil and secluded spot in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Purnell Manor is nestled in a rural spot close to the town of Dursley, in the heart of one of England’s most attractive spots: The Cotswolds.

Surrounded by hills, and sitting on the Cotswold Way, the charming market town of Dursley offers lovely walks with breath-taking views. Walkers will be in their element - there is even a Walking Festival every October. The Lantern Way is an exquisite fourteen-mile circular walk taking in Dursley and the villages of Coaley and Uley. Some of the walks offer panoramic views over the River Severn and beyond.

The golf course on Stinchcombe Hill has been described as one of the most scenic in Europe.

The town itself is located in a wooded valley under the Cotswold escarpment. At the heart of Dursley is the delightful eighteenth century market house, which is also the Town Hall. A variety of small shops, cafes and pubs in Dursley includes the award-winning Old Spot pub, and a bustling farmer’s market on the second Saturday of every month.

Providing the ideal base for country pursuits, guests have the option of clay pigeon shooting, or adrenaline junkies will enjoy the local Xtreme Sports centre or Cotswold Water Park for a spot of white-water rafting or swimming in the rapids!

The area is rich with cultural interest and history. A visit to nearby Uley Bury is one of the finest examples of a promontory fort in Britain. Close by is Hetty Pegler’s Tump, a communal burial mound dating back to the Neolithic period. Twinberrow Woods is home to the Dursley Sculpture & Play Trail, featuring unique works by local groups and artists.
