For the energetic, the Brecon Beacons National Park and River Wye have a number of adventure training providers, from renting a canoe, to high rope courses and gorge walking. Hay on Wye just a short drive away, is famous for its International Book Festival, with plenty of second hand bookshops, an art house cinema and independent shops, as well as The Globe at Hay. This restored chapel is one of two within the hamlet originally built in 1828 and has been restored to a very high standard. Step inside and leave your walking boots within the entrance hall. The ground floor is open plan with the original chapel windows and solid wooden floors; the lounge area offers a wood burner with sofas that you can sink into after a day walking and exploring, with a TV/DVD set to the side. The kitchen area is contemporary in style and well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is also a WC on the ground floor. When the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find the two bedrooms. A king size with vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a twin bedroom with wooden framed beds and an en suite shower room and WC. There is also a separate bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. There is a wrought iron bench to the front of the chapel where you can watch the world go by. And there is roadside parking, subject to availability, opposite the chapel.
