Located three miles to the picturesque village of Fettercairn home to one of the oldest whisky distilleries and only two miles to Edzell, a beautiful village situated at the foothills of the Grampian Mountains. Both villages provide a good choice of local shops, pubs and eateries and easy access to all five glens of Angus. The Medieval Edzell Castle and colourful renaissance garden is well worth a visit too, and beautiful Kirriemuir is a lovely day out with its history which reaches back to the earliest recorded times. Golfers are well catered for with two courses close by. Enjoy salmon fishing at nearby Esk and Westwater, Munro baggers can enjoy challenging hikes in Glen Clova and Glen Esk. Take a short trip along the coastline to discover the glorious sandy beaches at nearby St Cyrus and Lunan Bay. Perfect for al fresco dining, or to sit with your morning coffee or a wee dram and gaze up at the night sky. You may also get the opportunity to spot the regular visitors including Roe deer, red squirrels, barn owls, hare, rabbits, red kite and lots of garden birds.
