Inviting you in to enjoy a spot of home-cooking is the country-style kitchen, boasting elegant worktops and all the essentials required to cook up a storm, including an electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Joining this space is the dining table, making a great spot for hosting all the family together to enjoy a home-made delicacy and to toast to a memorable holiday to Cornwall. After dinner, hours of fun can be had within the games room, flick on your favourite tune on the jukebox before challenging a loved one to a game of pool, table tennis or air hockey. From the reading room window you can look out across the distant, sweeping view of the south coast, where on clear days the ocean shows off its beautiful blue colours. This space also houses a utility with a washing machine and a handy cloakroom. If you are seeking a moment of relaxation, head into the sitting room and light up the woodburning stove, which fills the room with a sense of tranquillity as you unwind after an action-packed day exploring your surroundings. As the evening draws to a close, venture upstairs to find an elegantly-appointed master bedroom, complete with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, with a shower over bath, his-and-hers sinks and WC. The remaining bedrooms on this floor boast the same touch of opulence and comprise of a double bedroom and a single bedroom, served by a family bathroom. Concluding the interior are the two bedroom on the second floor, comprising of a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom. Continuing to impress is the garden, where you can enjoy a refreshing beverage, whilst your canine companions stretch their legs on the lawn area. If you can tear yourself away from this outstanding base, enjoy a gentle stroll around the village, where you will be delighted to find a lively atmosphere centred on a good selection of pubs, eateries, a village shop and a church, which is said to have the best peal of bells in the area. Make your way to Par Beach, from here you can access the impressive South West Coastal Path heading east towards the Gribbin Head Peninsula and past the dramatic cliffs, before reaching the pretty beach at Polkerris Cove as you reach Fowey. Fowey is home to a stunning harbour and the ruins of St Catherine’s Castle, built by Henry VIII, as well as an aquarium, ideal for a day out with the children. There is also a good selection of shops, fresh fish restaurants and local crab sandwiches and ice creams on sale within the town, while art galleries offer a delightful day out with a touch of culture. From the harbour, take the ferry to Mevagissy and Looe throughout the tourist season, perfect for marvelling at the beautiful waters and picture-perfect harbour from afar. While in the area, why not take advantage of the kayaking and paddle boarding opportunities on the scenic blue waters, or hop on the boat to the lovely Polruan and spend an afternoon strolling along the coastal path and towards the endearing coves such as the National Trust’s Lantic Bay. Heading west along the coastal path will take you to the Roseland Heritage Coast before meeting Mevagissey and Charlestown. Famous for its fishing fleet, Mevagissey offers fresh-caught seafood, while the charming and historic harbour at Charlestown is known for its harbour and shipwreck museum. Charlestown is most renowned for being the filming location of the popular TV programme, Poldark, as well at the fantastic franchise, The Pirates of the Caribbean, while boasting a good selection of shops, restaurants and scrumptious local ice cream. Cornwall has a huge range of activities to enjoy including watersports at the beaches, fantastic walks along the coastal paths and inland to the delightful countryside, and not to forget the wonderful eco-park of Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which both provide wonderful days out for all ages and abilities in the a 200-acre garden filled with fascinating wildlife.
