With real charm and character, this wonderful little settlement has won the 'Best Kept Village Award' ten times - most recently in 2005 - and was also in the final of the 'National Village of the Year' award in 1998. With a traditional country pub set just off the village green, this is a truly special holiday destination. Set in verdant green countryside, and along the course of the 'Manifold Trail' - which follows the route of the old Leek to Manifold Light Railway - this is an ideal spot for walkers or cyclists. The pretty towns of Ilam and Hartington are close by and provide a wide range of amenities such as shops and cafes, whilst further afield are the pretty market towns of Ashbourne and Leek.
