Be welcomed into the all-ground-floor layout via the utility room, a spacious and handy area home to the washing machine and great for storage of any muddy boots or outdoor gear. Continue into the farmhouse style kitchen which is home to all the appliances you need for a great self-catered stay, with plenty of preparation space too. Enjoy a meal with a view in the dining room, from the table you can look out of the patio doors over the country fields and to the mountains, creating a lovely atmosphere. Let the woodburning stove roar in the background as you wind down on one of the sofas, watch some TV or snuggle up with a book amidst the bright and neutral decor. Choose from three excellent bedrooms to settle in at night; the king-size bedroom which features an en-suite shower room, a double bedroom or a twin bedroom, with a family bathroom home to a fabulous roll-top bath and a separate walk-in shower, so you can indulge in a warm soak after a long day of walks. The main attraction nearby has to be the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, standing at 240 feet high, it's an impressive landmark and Britain's tallest single-drop waterfall, then from here explore the amazing Berwyn Mountains, with many routes and trails to suit all abilities and types of walkers. Enjoy a day out to Welshpool and visit the impressive Powis Castle and Garden run by the National Trust, built in medieval times in around 1200, it sits high on a rock above the Italian and French style gardens, and is also home to one of the UK's most significant collections of Indian objects. Stop by the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and ride on a steam train atop the 2 foot 6 inch narrow gauge system, winding through the countryside and first opened back in 1903. Walkers can enjoy exploring the famous Offa's Dyke Path, a 177 miles walking trail which loosely follows the Wales/England border, you can hop on it near Welshpool, or head to Oswestry and while you're there you can discover the British Ironwork Centre, Old Oswestry Hill Fort, and the Park Hall Countryside Experience. Exciting watersports and sailing can be enjoyed at Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala as well as excellent fishing, while the town of Llangollen which lies on the banks of the River Dee is a fabulous place to find quirky shops, vintage retailers and its own heritage railway. Within reach of the Snowdonia National Park too, Glanderwen is a superb base for an adventure in Wales.
Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant is a charming village which rests at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, set around the River Rhaeadr and home to one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, the amazing Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls. The village is home to two pubs, two general stores and various local businesses including a fish and chip shop! Enjoy exploring the Tanat Valley, Berwyn Mountains, Offa's Dyke Path, Lakes Vrynwy and Bala and the Snowdonia National Park.
