Resting on the outskirts of Oxenhope village and opposite a reservoir is The Vestry, a four-storey converted chapel property, ideal for large family or group gatherings for those wanting to explore West Yorkshire and the surrounding Bronte Country. Located off the main road and via a private path, you will find ample parking space on the driveway, as well as a spacious garden which offers two patio areas with seating, a lawn and a hot tub, providing the ideal spot to end your day with a soothing dip beneath the evening sky. Step inside the property via the patio doors to find the open-plan living room, with an inviting seating area boasting two corner sofas, placed in front of a woodburning stove, which can add a cosy ambience to the space when you feel like having a night in watching your favourite Netflix shows on the Smart TV. The large country-style kitchen provides all the appliances you'll need to cook up some delicious meals, with a huge Range cooker and American-style fridge/freezer, as well as a dishwasher to take care of any washing up and an island/breakfast bar where you can prepare ingredients and enjoy a quick snack. Sit down meals can be enjoyed around the dining table, which comfortably seats 12, or why not take your dinner onto the patio and enjoy some alfresco dining? The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, ideal for cleaning any clothes after a day of walking and exploring, and you can freshen up in the handy cloakroom. When it's time to catch up on rest, you can find five bedrooms spread out across the first, second and third floors, beginning with a large, self-contained family bedroom comprising a double bed, a large seating area with TV and games console, a lovely feature fireplace and an adjoining room with two further single beds, which benefits from use of the partially tiled bathroom with roll top bath, ideal for a relaxing soak at the end of a busy day. The second floor houses three double bedrooms, all of which have Velux windows boasting rolling countryside views, as well as ample storage for belongings and shared use of a family bathroom which features an original stained glass window and the choice of a roll top bath and walk-in shower, while the third floor offers a king-size double bedroom resting under the eaves, with an original ceiling joist, Velux window overlooking the countryside and an en-suite shower room. Explore Oxenhope village and find a plethora of scenic walking trails, including one around Leeming Reservoir, just across the road from the property, while the closest pub is a minute's walk away and a great selection of shops and eateries lie close by, should you need to grab any essential items or for when you feel like dining out and having a night off from cooking duties. Hop on a steam train and venture along the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, recognisable from the film The Railway Children, towards neighbouring Haworth and further north towards Keighley. Haworth is the home of the Bronte sisters, who took much of their inspiration from its rugged beauty, famously depicted in the novel Wuthering Heights. Pay a visit to the Bronte Parsonage Museum, the family home of the writers which displays some of their personal items and manuscripts, and head to Keighley for an array of attractions, including the Museum of Rail Travel, where you can see a selection of vintage trains, as well as Cliffe Castle and the National Trust's East Riddlesden Hall, complete with beautiful formal gardens and a tearoom. Further afield, Ogden Water Country Park offers scenic walking trails and the market town Skipton, known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is home to an impressive castle. The Vestry is a wonderful base for a special gathering in the heart of West Yorkshire.
