This retreat is nestled amid beautiful countryside on the edge of the pretty village of Kirkconnel only 2 miles from the ancient Royal Burgh of Sanquhar. The area is a paradise for walkers, bikers and hikers with the Southern Upland Way 4 miles away passing through Sanquhar, running from Portpatrick in the west to Cockburnspath in the east. Galloway Forrest Park and the coast are both within 30 miles for a day out. Salmon fishing is available on the River Nith in the local town, while for a day out, the vibrant city of Glasgow is only an hour away by train.
