This wonderful lodge is peacefully located in the tiny hamlet of Beck Hole, in the North York Moors National Park, just a short stroll away from the smallest pub in the north of England where traditional ales are served. The well-known Rail Trail runs through the village, and walkers will delight at the many footpaths that can be found nearby, including the Cleveland Way. The Mallyan Spout Waterfall is a must when staying in Beck Hole, and the village of Goathland, made famous as Aidensfield in the TV series ‘Heartbeat’, is less than 1 mile away. The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough is just 24 miles away with its cliff top castle, beaches, pier and Sea Life Centre. Quaint fishing and smuggling villages of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay, and Staithes, all have their own appeal with beaches, narrow lanes and alleyways to explore. Whitby is around 10 miles away and is famous for its links with Bram Stokers ’Dracula’, as well as the many events and festivals taking place throughout the year, such as the famous Goth Weekender and the Whitby Regatta. Discover the myriad shops in the cobbled lanes, climb the 199 steps to St Mary’s church and the abbey ruins, or take a tourist boat for a sail round the coast.
