Perfectly located in the peaceful hamlet of Limestone Brae, near Carrshield, and nestled within the Pennines AONB, Woodbine Cottage is a detached 17th century cottage and former Quaker meeting house, and it is in the ideal location for guests wanting to enjoy a quiet holiday or cosy romantic break. It is surrounded by miles upon miles of beautiful, natural and unspoilt landscapes, perfect for families and guests who enjoy the great outdoors. Woodbine Cottage offers access to an abundance of established public footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths, with the Coast to Coast route and the Pennine Way both nearby. The smaller towns of Alston and Allendale both lie between 8 and 9 miles away, offering guests the opportunity to explore the local area, whilst enjoying one of the many cafes and eateries that provide excellent quality local produce. The popular market town of Hexham is a mere 30-minutes drive away and offers an excellent race course, golf course and a high street lined with tea shops, cafes and excellent restaurants and pubs. There are also several supermarkets and a great range of shops as well as a cinema and leisure facilities, including tenpin bowling and an indoor heated swimming pool. Slightly further afield, yet still within easy reach, guests will be able to visit popular attractions including the historic Hadrian’s Wall and many of the Roman forts and settlements. Along the way, the Northumberland National Park, Cheviots, Scottish Borders, the Lake District and Cumbria as well as the stunning north east coast are worth visiting. Woodbine Cottage is spacious, light and airy and has been loving renovated by the current owners.
