Better yet, this detached lodge is situated in a magical setting within the heart of the Thetford Forest, some 47,000 acres. With one and a half acres itself, which often plays host to deer in the mornings, the grounds lead into the forest for great walks, cycle routes and nature trails. You won’t need to travel far to enjoy the wildlife which lies just footsteps away, but if you do, you will find lots of birdwatching sites. Falconer’s Lodge boasts a wood burner to snuggle by after a day out, and a freestanding bath to soak away the day’s efforts. Venture further afield, and you will find High Lodge and Go Ape close by. Take the time to visit the picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds with its famous Abbey and great places to eat, drink and shop. Norwich is also worth seeing, with its splendid Norman castle and numerous museums and attractions, as is Ely with its cathedral named ’the Ship of the Fens’.
