Guests will be able to watch as top class racehorses are ridden daily through the village and up to the gallops in the fields at the edge of the village. The extremely popular Middleham Open Day is held annually on Easter Monday when you can take a look around the racing stables too! Middleham Castle lies just behind Milton House and was once the home of Richard III, and was referred to in former times as the ’Windsor of the North’. Middleham is a great place for families too with plenty of attractions to visit and explore within a short driving distance. If you’re looking to get out and stretch your legs, guests who enjoy walking, cycling or even just exploring will find an abundance of established public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that lead right from the village itself through the Dales and beyond, with spectacular scenery, open countryside and pretty little Yorkshire villages.
