Utility room: With washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Separate toilet.. First Floor: Bedroom 1: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request). Netherthird is a stunning detached farmhouse set in a wonderfully elevated position, with the most glorious views of the surrounding Galloway Hills. Netherthird was fully renovated in 2020 and has been lovingly furnished to ensure a truly comfortable and welcome family retreat. On the ground floor are two lovely living rooms to the front of the house, each with large bay windows. The family kitchen and dining room are also on the ground floor and are the perfect place for an informal breakfast or family meal. The four spacious bedrooms all on the first floor and have the most delightful views and luxurious comfy beds. Netherthird will certainly not disappoint, with an outside space just as impressive. There is an amazing barbecue hut, with charcoal barbecue and ample seating, perfect for enjoying with friends and a glass or two of wine. Relax in the large hot tub taking in the clear dark skies at night. Whilst you have the peace and tranquillity of country living, Netherthird is only a short drive from both the busy towns of Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright. Castle Douglas, known as ‘the food town’, has many lovely little shops selling local crafts and produce and there are several cafés for you to try as well as a brewery. Something for everyone! Kirkcudbright is a lovely town situated on the estuary and still has a busy and bustling harbour. Stroll through the town and visit the famous Broughton House, once home to Edward Atkinson Horne, a famous Scottish painter. Known as ‘the artist’s town’ having hosted generations of painters, craft makers and artisans, a culture still thriving today. This delightful corner of south west Scotland has something for everyone with an abundance of walks, from scenic coastal walks to forest trails. Sailing, riding, fishing, golf and water sports are all readily available close by. Warmed by the Gulf Stream there are also many beautiful gardens to discover including Threave Gardens only a short drive away. The area is well recognised for its clear skies and is one of the 12 best stargazing sites in the world, and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
