Craigerne Apartment is part of a Victorian building, situated only 20 yards from the first tee of Newtonmore’s beautiful 18-hole golf course which is open to visitors. Newtonmore is in the Cairngorms National Park and has many attractions to offer. The Wildcat Experience is a 6½ mile trail in the village and passes rivers, mountains and wildlife. Throughout the village you can spot 131 model wildcats which are hidden in different places, you will also find Clan MacPherson Museum in the centre of the village. Highland Folk Park which spans 80 acres is an impressive park which brings to life the domestic and working conditions of earlier Highland people, it has free admission with donations encouraged. The TV Series Outlander was filmed here. Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery where visitors can enjoy whisky tasting tours is the highest in Scotland and is only a few miles away. Newtonmore activities include tennis courts, bowling green, Badenoch Angling Association (day and weekly permits) for River Spey and loch fishing, pony trekking, quad bike tours and cycling trails. Newtonmore has many shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and makes a perfect base to visit the Highland Wildlife Park, Landmark Adventure Centre, Loch Ness and the beautiful West Coast. The village is a short drive from Kingussie and Aviemore, where there are many shops, bars, restaurants and cafés to enjoy. On Cairngorm mountain range, there is the ski station, downhill skiing, winter trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and Cairngorms reindeer herd.
