Jesmond Cottage is a traditional single storey cottage overlooking the upper village green in this quiet little village. Jesmond Cottage has been refurbished in 2021 and offers a delightful little cottage to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the Eden Valley, 6 miles from Brampton and Carlisle. The spacious sitting room overlooks the village green while the modern and newly fitted kitchen and dining area offers the perfect place to sit and enjoy breakfast before you start exploring the area. Great Corby has an excellent pub where you can sample some fine ales brewed by Great Corby Brewhouse which is just a few yards from Jesmond Cottage next to the Queen Inn. There are many lovely walks from Jesmond Cottage particularly over the railway footbridge at the northern end of the village over the River Eden to Wetheral. Slightly further afield there are delightful walks around Talkin Tarn Country Park where you can enjoy acres of delightful woodland and Tarnside walks, and has plenty of recreational opportunities for cycling and watersports. The border city of Carlisle with its 12th century cathedral and 11th century castle, is a lovely city to explore and of course, great for a spot of retail therapy. Brampton is also a delightful market town with many shops selling local produce, and both are only 6 miles away from Jesmond Cottage. Of course no visit to Jesmond Cottage and this delightful area would be complete without seeing some of Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can explore the wall’s history and its dramatic landscape at over twenty fascinating sites, among them Birdoswald Roman Fort. For exploring further afield, your stay at Jesmond Cottage could not be better as you can easily visit the North Pennines, Scotland and of course the lakes and hills of the Lake District National Park.
