Alnwick only a few minutes’ drive and is home to the famous castle used in Harry Potter where you can book broomstick lessons, and also home to the magnificent Water gardens where you can book a table at the fabulous Tree House restaurant, the largest in Europe. Explore the cobbled streets with independent shops and bijoux cafés with something for all ages. Golf lovers will delight in the two courses close by; one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton, enjoying panoramic views. Amble and Warkworth are nearby; Amble has a popular Sunday morning market where you can mix with the locals then browse in the little shopping pods on the harbour, perhaps have fish and chips or visit one of the little eating places on the harbour, or enjoy a boat trip round Coquet Island bird sanctuary.
