Sunrise, a ground floor apartment, is situated on the very popular holiday complex The Bay, close to an award-winning beach that stretches along the coast to Filey. The complex has lots of activities available such as tennis, archery, gym classes and a wonderful indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna, and keeping fit won’t be an issue with a new fitness centre which opened in February 2019. Filey is only 3 miles away and is a very traditional seaside resort with a fantastic beach. Because the tide goes out a long way you have over 5 miles of sandy beach to walk along, which is why it has been voted the best beach in the UK for 2018 by The Sunday Times. To the north of the bay there is Filey Brigg and lots of rock pools. This is also the end of the Cleveland Way and you will see many a weary walker reaching the end of the walk and going down to the rock pools to ease their tired feet. Try the walk in the opposite direction and head towards Scarborough. The views are amazing along the coastline and you can always catch the bus back. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just along the coast where you can see the migrating seabirds, with the puffins being the most popular. The seaside resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington are just a short drive away and in less than an hour you can be in the medieval city of York. The apartment makes the perfect base from which to visit the east coast, the Yorkshire Wolds and the beautiful North York Moors National Park. Beach 500 yards.
