Pecket Well borders the National Trust woodlands of Hardcastle Crags and Crimsworth Dean, and the 50-mile circular Calderdale Way passes close by. You can also pick up stone-paved packhorse tracks. A 2-minute walk will take you to a local dog-friendly pub serving food, a post office and local store is 1 mile away and just 2 miles away is the buzzing, bohemian market town of Hebden Bridge which is not to be missed. Here you will find ample independent shops, bars, cafés and restaurants, together with a Victorian railway station which provides a direct service to both Manchester and Leeds. The historic village of Heptonstall, reportedly one of West Yorkshire’s best kept secrets, is just a 10-minute drive, and Haworth, otherwise known as home to the Brontë sisters, can be reached in around 20 minutes.
