Surrounded by the famous natural and unspoilt scenery of the Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire Dales, the area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with many popular routes, including the Manifold Trail right on your doorstep. Hulme End itself is home to a 200 year old coaching inn and restaurant, and seasonally home-made food, cakes and quiche are served from the café which operates at the visitor centre. Alternatively the popular village of Hartington offers a wider selection of amenities and shops, and is just a 5-minute drive. The towns of Ashbourne, Buxton and Leek can all be reached in around 20 minutes as can Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers. Finally the market town of Bakewell and magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall can be reached in around half an hour, making this the perfect place to relax and enjoy, or use as a base and explore the surrounding countryside and attractions of the White Peak.
