The Mill Retreat is located on the ground floor of the Mill with a generous entrance hall, and has a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, and kettle, and dining area. There is a large combined sitting and bedroom with a king-size bedstead, a french armoire and chest of drawers, a sofa, chairs, coffee table, and a television. The wood burning stove is perfect for creating a cosy atmosphere after your country walk, beach visit or perhaps your bike ride. A well-appointed bathroom with a feature free-standing bath and separate shower enclosure completes the accommodation.
Outside the Mill there is an opportunity to sit by the river to enjoy your morning coffee, or evening glass of wine, and if you are lucky you may receive a visit from one of the kingfishers that perch on the bridge wall.
Situated on the outskirts of the popular village of Maiden Newton, a village surrounded by pretty countryside, there are numerous opportunities for rural walks all around. Within a short five mile drive away there is Eggardon Hill, an Iron Age hill fort and downland with views across the Marshwood Vale to the Jurassic Coast. You are well situated for trips to the beaches of Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Ringstead and Weymouth, or iconic Lulworth Cover and Durdle Door. The county town of Dorchester with its museums, shops, restaurants and cafes, and Roman Townhouse is just a 15 minute drive away, and Beaminster, Bridport and Westbay are all within easy reach.

The River Frome runs beneath the building and guests may hear the sound of the river flowing by.

En-suite bathroom With a walk-in shower enclosure, claw foot, free-standing bath, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Outside: There is a gravel driveway to the front of the Mill, part of which is shared with the neighbouring properties, so access must be maintained at all times. To the front of The Mill Retreat is a small grassed area amongst the trees that sit alongside the river, and a table and chairs has been provided for guests to enjoy sitting close to the river. Parking for one car at the rear of the Mill which is accessed through a metal gate.
