Located in the sleepy hamlet of Saltcoats, overlooking the estuary, this gorgeous property has beautiful coastal views, making it a great place to relax and unwind. The Lake District s only coastal town, Ravenglass, is less than a mile away and is famous for its steam railway that takes passengers on a picturesque route through the fells to breathtaking Eskdale. A footpath across the footbridge into Ravenglass makes for a wonderful sunset stroll and is great for birdwatching. With its rich and varied history, the area has fascinating roots from Romans to smugglers. Muncaster Castle is a fun family day out, and Hadrian s Cycleway runs right past the cottage. Steps with a handrail lead up to the front door of this property. As you enter, you ll find yourself in the hallway, where you can ditch muddy coats and boots. Moving through, you ll come to the bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can appreciate the unspoilt views from the four windows in the room. Exposed stone walls and wooden floorboards create cosy cottage vibes, but neutral tones and modern furniture add contemporary touches. The sofas are comfy and are perfect for relaxing in front of the wood burner during chilly evenings, whilst the dining area (seating four) is the best spot for enjoying the views. To the rear of the room is the modern kitchen with an electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Also on the ground floor, you ll find the king size bedroom and the only bathroom in the house, which has a spacious walk in shower. The other bedrooms are situated on the first floor, up a narrow staircase with a rope banister, not suitable for guests with mobility issues (children should be supervised). There is a double room and a twin room, each featuring original exposed beams (note there is restricted headroom upstairs). All the bedrooms are light, welcoming, and immaculately presented, offering a restful environment for a good night s sleep. Outside, there are lots of areas to soak up the views. To the side and front, there are lawns that afford views of the estuary or the fells, including Scafell; to the rear, there is a patio for al fresco dining. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 1 king size, 1 double and 1 twin. 1 shower room walk in shower. Electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and an under counter fridge with icebox (no freezer). Wood burner first logs provided in winter months ( October to April ). Widescreen TV with Freesat, DVD player and some DVDs. Wi Fi included. Towels not included. Garden lawned front and side gardens, and a patio to the rear. Regret no pets. Parking for two cars on the lane in front of the cottage. Nearest pub under 1 mile. Please note that the stairs up to the first floor are very narrow and steep, therefore not suitable for those with mobility issues and young children must be supervised at all times (you may wish to bring your own stair gate).
